PostSubject: Evocation I & II : The News   Mon 26 Nov - 17:59

Eluveitie are releasing another full album and an MCD with purely acoustic folk material:

Quote:
As we notified good two months ago, we were also working on purely accoustic folk material. This project - originally intended as an MCD only - has grown into something much larger during the writing process, so we are happy and proud to announce that twilight records will release one complete full-length album brimmed with mystical celtic folk music as well as an additional MCD with some new waves of folk metal!
Both releases - belonging together conceptual - deal with ancient Gaulish mythology. Lyrically the songs dip from the source: Diverse ancient Gaulish texts that have been discovered as stone carvings, metal engravings, etc. These two conceptual releases are an in-depth voyage through the Celtic soul!
"Evocation I - The Arcane Dominion" (album) & "Evocation II - Visions" (MCD) are both to be released through twilight on the 15th of February 2008 and also include performances of several renowed guest-musicians - during the next weeks more will be revealed bit by bit. Stay tuned!
Here you go already with some first details of the Evocation artwork that is done by Manuel Vargas Lepiz, who has so far worked for artists like Mortiis, Fanoe and others. Enjoy!

PostSubject: Evocation I & II info?   Tue 12 Feb - 16:57

I've been wondering about the new Evocation album and MCD for quite some time now.
I believe they didn't even unveal any new info ever since they announced it, and info on the net is very scarce.
I know that the main focus is Slania, but the Evocation's have kind of been lurking in the shadows so far.
The people that don't follow their news posts probably aren't even aware that they exist Razz

Anyway, does anyone have any info?
I posted the cover art and announcement in the other thread, and they should be released along with Slania at the end of the week, I'm just surprised there isn't much info when they are so close to being released Shocked

PostSubject: Re: Evocation I & II : The News   Sat 23 Feb - 5:47

I was browsing around the Eluveitie forum when I noticed someone asking about Evocation, and Meri (the band's violin player) posted the following:

Quote:

Hails.

The release date is set to the end of 2008. At the moment we are in the
writing process. You can expect more concrete news about Evocation
I&II this summer. Hope you gonna be patient:-)

Too bad they delayed it for such a long time.
But then again, if they manage to turn it into another masterpiece, it'll be well worth the wait!

Next time I should have a look into the forums too, I just browsed their homepage yesterday.
Ye, too bad, but it'll be worth the waiting, I think. They only take time to make it perfect Viking

News concerning Evocation I:

Quote:
First of all we go with some disclosure about the artwork of EVOCATION I - the arcane dominion (part one album of a two piece concept).

As already announced it is realised again by brilliant photographer/graphic artist Manuel Vargas Leipz (http://www.manvarle.com) who already was responsible for the frontcover artwork for Slania.

The Evocation artwork is not yet finished, but the frontcover is as good as done.

Evocation will exclusively contain lyrics in gaulish language - the very most of them being original texts, that have been discovered through scientifical excavations (stone carvings, other inscriptions, ect.)!

Lyrically, the focus of the album is pure gaulish mythology.

Accordingly the cover displays:

...hope you enjoy!

Cheers

First guest musician announcement!

We are pround and happy to introduce you to the first guest musician to participate in our upcoming acoustic album - none lesser than FREDY SCHNYDER from the musical phenomenon NUCLEUS TORN (www.nucleustorn.ch, www.myspace.com/nucleustornband)!

Nucleus Torn pass for one of the most remarkable, ingenious and outstanding Experimental Ambient Classical Progressive Black Metal bands - actually far beyond being classifiable. The Swiss band, signed to Prophecy Productions (also home of famous bands like Todesbonden, The Vision Bleak, Tenhi, Negura Bunget & many others) describes their own music like this: "Nucleus Torn performs music for open souls and open minds. "

In his band Fredy is in charge for diverse common and definitely uncommon instruments, from electric and classical guitars, via church organ up to oud!

On our upcoming album Evocation I, this multi-instrumentalist will contribute Hammered Dulcimer in one or maybe even more tracks!

Cheers!

Chrigel

Quote:
And another guest musician to be announced!

Proudly we present: Mina the fiddler Viking

Mina is a very skilled fiddler with long years of experience in diverse traditional fiddle styles (such as trad. Irish music, trad. Scandinavian fiddling and medieval music)!

She formerly played together with Linda (Ex-Eluveitie-fiddler), Meri & Chrigel in their folk band Branâ Keternâ (www.brana.ch), where she was in charge for viola and 5-stringed fiddle.

So, of course we are more than happy to have her on board!

On our upcoming acoustig album Mina will provide us with the deep and magical sounds of her 5-stringed fiddle in one or more tracks.

Cheers

Chrigel

A new guest musician to be announced!

Please put your hands together for none lesser than: Oliver Sa Tyr

Oliver is a very, very skilled and musically educated multi-instrumentalist masterly playing the celtic harp, keyed fiddle (nyckelharpa), bouzouki, diverse lutes and percussion!

He is well known through his formative activity with his band Faun (www.faune.de), which is one of the hottest and most innovative medieval/folk music bands of Germany! He also created a great stir with his side project together with Brigit Muggenthaler from the german medieval rockers Schandmaul: Sava (www.sava-music.com).

On our upcoming acoustig album Oliver will conjure up scintillant notes on his celtic harp.... and probably also on some other instruments! Viking

Be curious!

Cheers

A new guest musician to be announced!

We're proud to announce none lesser than: Alan Nemtheanga

Alan is known as singer and frontman of the mighty pagan metal band from the republic of Ireland: Primordial (www.primordialweb.com)!

He is an absolutely unique singer and known for his enormously emotional, expressive and charismatic vocal art!

His melancholic and atmospheric way of singing perfetctly matches to the songs and character of our upcoming album. So we're more than happy that Alan will contribute some vocal lines on Evocation I!

Be prepared!

Chrigel

Quote:
And another new guest musician to be announced!

We're really happy to have her "on board" once again: Sarah Wauquiez

Sarah Wauquiez (formerly Sarah Kiener) might not be an unknown to some of you: Until January 2006 she was part of Eluveitie as Annas antecessor! Today she's again with her former folk/mediaval band Schellmerÿ (www.schellmery.ch.vu).

Masterly playing hurdygurdy, shalm, crummhorn, zugerörgeli (swiss accordion) and other instruments, Sarah is a skilled multi-instrumentalist and developped her very own 'earthy', quaint and charmed style of playing!

We're definietly happy Sarah will play contribute some shalm, crummhorn and eventually zugerörgeli, as well as the gaulish lyrics for one to Evocation I!

Cheers!!
