What are your views on religion and/or beliefs, life after death, the supernatural, etc ?

Note: I can see threads like this spiralling out of control fairly easily, so please respect other people's views and try not to offend them..

Personally, I'm against all forms of organised religion.
Christianity in particular, since I was basically raised with it, and pretty much forced to live by those beliefs since you don't know any better when you're a kid.
You get baptised at birth, and go through your commune and other stuff like that without even knowing the meaning behind all of it.
If you read up on some history, you'd know how much blood they've shed, and towns they have burned in the name of the "holy" church, all over some (imo) idiotic beliefs.
They forced their religion upon other people to gain power just like the common sects that are being condemned this very day (and believe me, in times of old, the church reigned supreme over the land, their power and influence was immense)
Of course times have changed, and their ways might not be as savage as they used to be, but their legacy lives on, and people just follow them since they don't know any better.
If there is any way of declining your affinity with Christianity/the church, I would gladly do it.
Little side note: People often think I'm a satanist or something when they see my little sig, but being against Christianity does not necessarily mean you vow to the ways of satan, silly!

In terms of actual beliefs in a higher power or life after death, the answer is short: none.
I'm 100% atheist and I do not believe in afterlife whatsoever.
I don't want a Christian funeral/burial either, they can just have a private memorial service among family/friends, and throw my ashes into the ocean or something like that.

Odd question perhaps, but what do you guys think?

Indeed exactly. I hate people playing with soul of others..its available for religion so is christianlty for same reasons as Jort...but also sects & shit like that. but also for nazism or some politic stuff..for whatever thing or people acting that way..its also funny to see that Christianism killed christianity by goin in some opposite thing to it religion. Thats why i could say christianism & christianity for same reasons as cuber.. This religion make blind the people from their begining of their life.. Well this theme is question of history knowledge, reading books , some knowledge bout religion & sociology..and philosophy....

But i think everyone is free to think or believe whatever he wants to. Freedom is soemthing big to me. like one of the first important thing ever.I often act with freedom on the first sight....but then sure everyone gets it own philosophy & ideas bout freedom too well all this is question of philosophy again...so i rather wont go farer or could b like soem very very very long posts........

My family from the side of my mother are all firm believers in Christianity! My grand-father goes to church every single day, my mother goes to church every sunday, evertime there's something happening that seems to be out of no reason she always find a way to link it with god...
So I was raised in non-violence and christianity for all my life up to now! (I'm still stuck with those beliefs surrounding me.) When I was a kid I got baptised, then I got the first communion and the other thing which name I forgot. I remember I was even happy of making the 2 lasts! As cuber said 'you don't know any better when you're a kid'! I'd say that even 4 years ago I was still regularly going to church with my mother, I was that kid in the white dress next to the priest in front. I was the helper. I was the reader of some parts in the bible. I was the guy who brought the wine to the priest when he was doing is speech! I was proud of that! Until a certain age all that mattered to me was to do good as the church tell to! I was bullied in school and to get through it I used prayers... :/
Now when I remember that I feel somehow ashamed. I was manipulated by those beliefs that were forcefed to me since I was born. Right now the only reason of why I go to church is to please my grand-parents and my mother, I go at Christmas. That's all. I feel angry the whole time I'm in time, it's pissing me off that some people are so blinded by such non-sense! Religion is just a placebo to cure the problems in your pathetic life!
I'm against all form of religion also, I think that those who believe in the presnece of god and speaks to him are only showing signs of a manmade schyzophrenia. Satanism ain't better, "Fuck god! Hail Satan". That still is in the same path as are the christians. Hating god still mean believing it exists.
I pity those people and hope that they understand their mistake one day.
I'm atheist and believing we were formed from bacteria that went wrong. Not from the might of a divine presence.

Falconer made the song Delusion about Christianity, here are the lyrics for you!:
"Grasp your sword so blindly,
time is in for holy war.
In the sign of a fairy tale
you sacrifice your precious life.

Yield to the nonsense,
yield to the dogmatic scheme.
Kneel down embrace it,
indoctrination supreme.

What is your inner holy delusion?
Will stupidity be canonized?
Would the Prophet or the Messiah
then really welcome you in?

On a mission of evil
by a dreamer sanctified.
None believers shall suffer
for not believing the same lie."

In my family everyone I know is Christian, except for me. Well, I never got baptized or was taken to the church and I'm happy about that. My parents wanted to decide us (my brothers and me) if we wanted that. My older brother is baptized and confirmed, the younger one is going to do that as well.
I don't know how someone can believe in one almighty god. That's absurd for me. Also the "good and bad"-thingy. That's not only Christianity but also all the over monotheistic religions. But I'd never judge someone by his believes.

I'm pagan for myself. That means I do believe in the ancient gods. And that's 'cause they give me a good feeling. When I enter the forest or simply go out into nature, I can feel their presence and it makes me feel better.
I was never looking for an religion or something like that but I found it. Maybe because I was always interested in nordic and Germanic cultures. However.
It's the complexity of paganism which fascinates me. All those tales and stories who all have a deeper sense and explains the way of nature. It's a believe which evolved with time and got more and more complex. Not like the ones who are based on books and/or are focused on one single prophet and haven't changed since two thousand years or like that. Anyway.
It's just a good feeling when you go into the forest to your place and talk to the gods, give them your donations. It's just like our forefathers did it long time before...
But so many people just think wrong about that. It's not all about Valhalla as many people - including some pagans! - think. I don't want to go to Valhalla after death. And I won't, 'cause I don't want to die in battle. It's the hall Gimle which would be perfect for me, but it's a very hard way to get in there which does require more than just one single life.
Well, I'll stop here for now...
