Falchion is a Finnish melodic heavy metal band which has got influences for example from Scandinavian death metal, viking metal, folk metal, neo-classical metal, progressive metal and nowadays even some thrash metal. In the beginning there were probably two notable Finnish metal albums whose created the idea of forming a melodic death metal band. These albums were Amorphis' Elegy (1996) and Ensiferum's same-titled debut album (2001).

Falchion is Awesome ! They have only one album for the moment, but what album !!!
Legacy of Heathens is pure Folk Melodic Death metal ! Awesome riffs and solo of hell !
Is one of my favorite folk metal album (a mix of ensiferum/korpiklaani/etc)
You must absolutly hear : - Immortal heroes, Folk in the Golden Town, or Broken stone...
Can't wait for Chronicles of the Dead (I hope as folk as Legacy of Heathens)

| Indeed, a very good album! By the way,Juho Kauppinen from korpiklaani plays there too.
Also, I know i already mentioned it in swortdchant but why not one more time: a falchion is a french sword.
 
They also have a demo made in 2003 called Glory of the Sword.
